Abstract

This research aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the role of the United Nations in the protection of Human Rights. The United Nations plays a crucial role in protecting human rights by establishing international laws and standards, treaties monitoring human rights violations, and providing assistance and protection to�those�affected. This research gives various definitions of human rights, and aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the role of the United Nations in the protection of human rights. This paper appraises the efforts of the United Nations through its laws, bodies, organisations, and treaties in protecting�human�rights and suggests on effective ways the United Nations can further protect human rights. This work relies mainly on the doctrinal method of research. This research concludes that the United Nations plays a critical role in the protection of human rights around the world, through its various bodies and mechanisms. This paper advocates for the implementation of international human rights�standards among member States. This paper also urges the United Nations and its members to bolster their commitment to safeguarding human rights and making sure they are both successfully implemented and maintained.
