XENOPHOBIC VIOLENCE IN AFRICA: THE CASE OF SOUTH AFRICA

Abstract

This research investigates the underlying causes, catalysts, and effects of the recurrent phenomena of xenophobic violence in South Africa. This study examines the social, economic, and political elements that lead to the violent targeting of foreign people, especially those from other African nations, using a qualitative research methodology. The research also examines how the South African government and international response to these violent attacks, pointing out the shortcomings and difficulties in dealing with this complicated problem. This project is to further knowledge of xenophobia and its expressions in Africa through the use of South Africa as a case study. The goal is to educate practice and policy that attempts to avoid and lessen xenophobic violence on the continent.
