A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF CHILD TRAFFICKING AND ORGAN HARVESTING IN NIGERIA
Abstract
Children are trafficked across boarders everyday and their lives are endangered. This research� critically analyze the dangers of child trafficking and organ harvesting in Nigeria. The research utilizes doctrinal approach of the primary and secondary laws. Children are vulnerable persons that needs care and protection. The research discovers that children are abducted and their organs surgically removed illegally. There are stringent laws that provide against organ harvesting. The literature review of different authors discusses and discover the causes and why the anomaly continues to boom in Nigeria and around the globe. The research discover that victim are exploited close relative and wealthy individual that the law fail to prosecute and the lives of the victims are at stake. The research finds that there is no informed consent of the victims and which reveals why despite the National Health Act 2014 growth continues as the donor authorization is not sort and also there is no clarity to the provision of the laws.� The research discovers this numerous gaps in the laws� as highlighted above. The research recommends an accountability system and functioning database reporting system and further advocate inter-sectional strategy to combat the crime. The research concludes that cooperative effort of every citizen to stop the menace are needed.
