DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF DEPRESSION

Abstract

Depression�is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest and can interfere with daily life functioning. Treatment for depression usually involves a combination of self-help, talking therapies and�medicines. In this study, a pre-diagnostic decision support system was developed with PHP/MySQL to aid in early diagnosis of depression. The patient data is fed into the system for statistical analysis that is interpreted by a health care physician for further action. When it is utilized as a decision support system, it will assist health care providers to pre-diagnose depression with ease and reliability
