Abstract

In the age of the fourth industrial revolution, efficient scheduling is a prime ingredient for sustainable manufacturing firm. An innovative web-based production scheduling can be defined as scheduling using web technologies and infrastructures. In this project, a web-based system is proposed and developed based on a few dispatching rules modeled with the goal of minimizing total delay of orders. A flexible web-based scheduling system is considered with the properties of sequence-dependent setup and different process plans for production jobs. The project examines the current state of production scheduling (PS), identifies some Technical and systems changes that have occurred over recent years and the development of a web-based application that can help companies reach business needs and requirements. Production scheduling is being tasked to respond efficiently to internal and external organizational changes by being more dynamic and providing better control of resources and delivery performance. A simulation is conducted using randomly generated problem instances, for the purposes of the system�s performance evaluation. The results imply that our proposed method produced reliable and consistently better outcomes that will greatly enhance the sustainability of any manufacturing firms.
