EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF “MONSTER” ENERGY DRINK ON SOME LIVER FUNCTION PARAMETERS
Abstract
ABSTRACT The findings of this study suggest that the intake of “Monster” energy drink by rats resulted in increased AST and ALT levels, indicating a potential impact on liver function. However, ALP levels were only significantly elevated in the high dosage group. These results emphasize the need for further investigation to determine the clinical implications of energy drink consumption on liver health in humans. As energy drinks are widely consumed, it is crucial to understand the potential risks they may pose to liver function and overall well-being. It is important to note that these results were obtained from an animal study, and caution should be exercised when extrapolating them to humans. Further research, particularly longitudinal studies involving human subjects, is necessary to determine the precise effects of “Monster” energy drink on liver function and to establish a causal relationship. Nonetheless, the findings of this study highlight the potential risks associated with energy drink consumption, specifically with regard to liver health. Given the widespread popularity of energy drinks, it is crucial for individuals to be aware of the potential adverse effects and consume them in moderation. Consulting healthcare professionals and adhering to recommended guidelines can help mitigate any potential risks associated with energy drink consumption.
