Abstract

�ABSTRACT This research examines the laws regulating trade disputes in Nigeria. It employs the use of doctrinal research method and reviews primary and secondary sources of law such as the trade disputes Act of 1976 amongst others. The research finds that there is urgent need for the review of existing legal frameworks on trade dispute resolution and recommends that parties to a trade dispute should look to ADR mechanisms as an effective and objective way to settle their disputes. The research concludes that a robust trade dispute s85ettlement system is essential for promoting a favourable business environment in Nigeria.
