BIAFRAN WAR AND ITS IMPACT IN THE PRESENT DAY NIGERIA

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the Biafran war and its impact in the present day Nigeria, delving into the root causes of the conflict, including ethnic tensions, economic disparities, and political struggles and examines how this issues have evolved and persisted in contemporary Nigeria. Through a comprehensive analysis of historical documents, journals, this project highlights the enduring legacy of the Biafra war on Nigeria�s political landscape, social fabric and economic development. The project investigates the wars influence on Nigeria�s identity, addressing how collective memory and historical narratives shape current national discourse and inter-ethnic relations. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of acknowledging and addressing the historical grievances rooted in the Biafra war to foster reconciliation and sustainable development in Nigeria.
