Benin City, Nigeria – Post-Graduate students from the Department of Animal Science and Animal Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies at Benson Idahosa University (BIU) have made the institution proud by securing multiple awards at the recent Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP) Conference. The BIU delegation was led by theAg. Head of Department, Dr. (Mrs.) Ilaboya Ibinabo.


The outstanding achievement, under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. S.O.E. Alakpa, were celebrated during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, where they presented their achievements. 


Notable Award Winners 

·         Mr. Raphael Okuna emerged as the Best Student in Animal Breeding and Genetics and also secured the Third Best Overall Presenter Award

·         Mr. Rusak Abdulazeez won the Second-Best Oral Presentation Award in Monogastric Nutrition and Production. 

The delegation, accompanied by faculty members, expressed gratitude to the university management for its unwavering support in fostering academic excellence and research innovation.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor John Okhuoya, commended the award-winning students and the faculty for their dedication, urging them to continue raising the banner of BIU high in national and global academic circles. 

This remarkable feat further solidifies Benson Idahosa University’s commitment to producing top-tier professionals in animal science and technology.
