Obasi, Dean of the faculty welcomes you to the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at Benson Idahosa University where faith and learning intersect. As a community of scholars, we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and service, guided by our biblical values. We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance and Investment, Mass Communication, Sociology and Anthropology, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Political Science, and Public Administration. Our programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary to succeed in their chosen careers and make a positive impact in their communities.

We adopt various teaching and/or lecturing techniques by applying the student centered teaching/learning approach. We ensure that the practical aspects of each discipline are put into consideration in the scheme of work. Our laboratories which include – Accounting, econometrics and anthropological laboratories with well-equipped devices to bring our accounting students to global standards of accounting skills; our anthropological laboratories remain top-notch helping to remind our students of their identity and roots while our econometrics lab exposes our economics students to the scarce skill of econometrical analysis. All these and more are global best standards put in place to ensure understanding and promote innovative ideas amongst our students. Our staff collaborate with several Nigeria universities’ staff from the North, south, west to the East. We also collaborate with international universities from US, Europe, Asia etc. We have signed MOUs with different governments and industry leading organizations. Through collaborations with local and international partners, we provide opportunities for students to engage in research, internships, and community service projects that promote sustainable development, social justice, and spiritual growth. Most of our staff consult for individuals, national and international organization at various capacities. This has given us an edge over other Universities because we bring international standards and techniques while impacting on our students.

As a faculty, we are committed to Proverbs 22:6, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." We strive to create an environment that nurtures the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth of our students, preparing them to become leaders and change agents in their communities.
